Seniors in our community are set to receive some much needed musical relief. The Concerts In Care put on by the Health Arts Society of Alberta, is asking you to donate money to buy a concert for $300 that will then go to a long term care home or retirement living home here in Lethbridge. The concert is 45 minutes in length and you can choose from a variety of music genres including jazz, classical, opera, and folk. The program was started as a way to help out seniors who are not able to attend live performances. There is also a real need for funding for concerts in Lethbridge.

The Executive Director for the Health Arts Society of Alberta, Meran Currie-Roberts, says there is a real need for funding for concerts in Lethbridge. “As health care facility budgets are so stretched especially after the covid pandemic, facilities really want to bring this type of music to their residents and they don’t always have the funds to do so. We have a fabulous board member in Lethbridge, Dr. Jeffrey Steed, who is really out there trying to make sure that Lethbridge residents get access to high quality arts as well. We would love it if members of the Lethbridge community stepped up to send some professional music to elders in care in Lethbridge.”

The Health Arts Society of Alberta provides over 300 concerts a year for seniors in long term care or retirement homes.
