Cuban pianist Cary Garcia brings with her the rhythms and melodies of her country. She enjoys blending Cuban traditions with many different styles of music. She graduated from the Instituto Superio de Arte in Havana, and has toured Cuba as a soloist and with ensembles. While in Cuba, she was a member of the National Center of Concert Music, participating in weekly concerts at the Castillo de la gran Fuerza. During this time, Cary won the Amadeo Roldan Annual Piano competition. Now in Canada, Cary is performing as a soloist, and with fellow musicians exploring music that honours the Cuban musical heritage. She has completed her music degree at UBC, and has 2 CDs to her credit.
