Bio
Violinist Vicky Huijun Chen began violin studies at the age of four in China. She won top prizes in provincial and national violin competitions in mainland China and Hong Kong, and completed her Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance at Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music. She continued her studies at the University of British Columbia where she was concertmaster of the UBC Symphony Orchestra and the UBC Chamber Strings and obtained a Master of Music degree in 2013. Ms Chen has attended Domain Forget Music Festival and received full scholarship at the Rosamunde Music Festival where she studied with the distinguished Canadian violinist James Ehnes. She has a passion for education and devotes much of her time to her more than forty students. Despite a busy teaching schedule Ms Chen maintains active with solo and chamber music performances.
