Sheng player Tim Chan was born in Canada and was influenced by his family and started to learn Sheng at 6 years old.  He plays with the British Colombia Youth Chinese Orchestra and the British Colombia Chinese Orchestra.  He is an outstanding Sheng solo player and his solo works were broadcast on OMNI TV.  He is the winner of the Chinese ethnic instruments category of the 2014 Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival.
