IRENE SETIAWAN, pianist

Born in Indonesia, Irene started learning piano at the age of four and only a few short years later, she was performing in major Indonesian cities, and later in Southeast Asia, North America, and Australia.  Irene has won both national and international piano competitions, including Sydney Performing Arts Challenge, and UBC Concerto Competition. She enjoys performing as a soloist, and also collaborating with instrumentalists, conductors, and choirs.  She is a dedicated teacher who enjoys seeing her students excel. Irene holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance National University of Singapore, Master of Music from UBC School of Music and will soon complete her doctorate.
