Tenor William George has performed in opera and song recitals in Canada, the US, Finland, Hong Kong, England, Sweden and Japan. He sings music that spans the musical eras from the earlier Baroque period (the time of Bach) to the contemporary time, including music written within the past several years. He has a tenor range, and also the higher tenor range––what is called the counter-tenor. This is a sound that was commonplace in earlier times, and is now regaining attention with contemporary composers. Now living in Vancouver, William adds to his schedule performances with City Opera Vancouver, the Abbotsford Symphony, the Handel Society, and the Vancouver Chamber Choir. He has recorded 3 CDs that show the diversity of his musical interest from Irish country songs to a very modern composition for tenor and string quartet.
