The Borealis String Quartet is an ensemble praised for its fiery performances, passionate style, and refined musical interpretation.  Founded in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2000, the Borealis has toured to major cities, including Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington DC, and, of course, in their home town of Vancouver. In recent years, the Borealis has been touring in Taiwan where audiences enjoy their innovative programs combining eastern and western music.   Although the Borealis feels strongly committed to the great traditional quartet literature, they are strong advocates of Canadian music, and work to take these works to international audiences. The quartet is frequently heard on CBC Radio, has filmed music videos, and recorded several CDs.
