Sally Arai
Bio
Clarinetist Sally Arai moved to Kamloops in the fall of 1989 to become Principal Clarinet of the Kamloops Symphony. Sally started life in Japan, moving to BC with her family as a young girl. She completed her Master’s Degree at UBC. Since moving to Kamloops, she has also performed with the Okanagan and Prince George Symphony Orchestras and with Orchestra Viva in B.C.’s interior. Sally also is a busy private teacher, and frequently travels the province to give clinics for young players. While her music making tends toward the classical symphonic style, she steps out from time to time as a member of the saxophone section of the Kamloops Big Band.
