Stefan Bienz was inspired to pick up the upright bass when he saw jazz bass legends Milt Hinton and Ray Brown.  He is not a musical purist and will play with almost any group in any style, as long as the people are friendly and the music sounds interesting to him.  When not playing music, he enjoys chasing his small children and spending time outdoors with his wife.
