Bio
Marc Destrubé [violin] divides his time between performances of the standard repertoire, particularly music of the 20th century and new music, on modern instruments, and performing baroque and classical music on period instruments. He is co-concertmaster of the Orchestra of the 18th Century (Amsterdam) with whom he tours three times annually, and first violinist with the Axelrod String Quartet, quartet-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution where the quartet plays on a collection of Stradivarius and Amati instruments. In Vancouver, he played with the Purcell String Quartet and as concertmaster of the CBC Radio Orchestra for a number of years, and was until recently artistic director of the Pacific Baroque Orchestra. He is a member of the Turning Point Ensemble, and is a regular guest director and soloist with orchestras across Canada and with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
