Edmund House [bassist, french horn and percussion] launched his hornplaying career in the Winnipeg Symphony in the early 70’s. That career has taken him to professional engagements with orchestras in Munich, Germany--- Belo Horizonte and Joao Pessoa, Brazil---Miami Philharmonic, Omaha Symphony, Spokane Orchestra, as well as performances and music festivals in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Sandpoint Festival, Idaho---Aspen and Boulder Music Festivals, Colorado, ---Pomona Festival, Claremont, California, ---Peter Britt Festival, Jacksonville, Oregon, and the Vancouver and Victoria Symphony Orchestras.

Edmund earned his Master of Music from University of Washington, Seattle, and receiving a Fulbright – DAAD- Scholarship for study in Munich, Germany.

Since planting his feet in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia in 1987, Edmund has played principal horn with the Okanagan Symphony, and Kamloops Symphony, Co-founded Ogopogo Brass quintet, Sagewinds woodwind quintet, and Viva Musica Society. In addition to private teaching in the Okanagan, he has taught and performed at the Courtenay Youth Music Festival.

Edmund plays contra-bass with a variety of valley area musical groups and occasionally performs on percussion and timpani as well.

Edmund has also served as Okanagan Symphony personnel manager and has been a staunch advocate for local players.
