Violinist Wendy Herbison has had a long and rewarding career as a player and teacher. A former member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, the CBC Radio Orchestra and the Baroque Strings of Vancouver, she brought a wealth of experience with her when she moved to the Kootenays in 1988. Since then she has played in and directed many orchestra and opera performances in Nelson, has played with the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Viva Musica, several chamber ensembles, and is the Concertmaster of Symphony of the Kootenays. As a dynamic teacher, Wendy has guided many students to excellence, first at the Langley Community Music School and then in her Nelson studio. Since retiring from teaching, she has enjoyed having more time to play chamber music, especially in the Longbeach Duo.
