Bio
A native of Calgary, Anita Comba (piano) studied music at the University of Victoria and Camosun College under the tutelage of the late Dr. Robin Wood. She has appeared as soloist with the Victoria Symphony and Civic Orchestras, the Prince George Symphony Orchestra, and has been heard on CBC radio accompanying various soloists. Having a particular interest in choral, song and operatic repertoire, Anita has performed the role of music director, coach, and répétiteur with the Vancouver Opera in the Schools Program, Victoria Conservatory of Music’s Opera Studio, UVIC’s Opera Nova, and Pacific Opera’s education concerts. For three years Anita was the pianist with the Vancouver Opera touring ensemble, performing in schools in British Columbia. With Vancouver Opera she has been the children’s chorus director for their mainstage productions of “The Magic Flute”, “Carmen”, “La Bohème” “Turandot”, “Tosca”, and “I Pagliacci”. For several years now she has been resident pianist for Pandora’s Vox and Espiritu vocal ensembles, recording CDs, and recently trying her hand at arranging.
