Bio
Soprano Karen Mang was born in Saskatchewan and received her early musical education from her mother and in the local community. She picked up the piano and clarinet early on, and would take her clarinet all the way to Victoria where she studied at the UVic School of Music, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Clarinet Performance. All the while, she had been singing in various choirs. In 1992, Karen won the clarinet audition for the RCMP Band in Ottawa. Alas, this was not to be as the band was discontinued shortly afterward. Karen spent 13 years as an RCMP officer, stationed in North Vancouver, Vancouver and Surrey. In May, she left to pursue other interests. Since 1994 she has been the soprano section lead in the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral and can be heard doing solo work in that capacity. Singing has always been a passion, and Karen is currently studying with Carlos Francis-Arduh and is freelancing in the Vancouver area.
