Bruce Vogt
Bio
Bruce Vogt [piano] is equally at home in the music of the sixteenth century and in the music of contemporary composers. In 1999, he and Japanese violist, Yumiko Yamamoto, were awarded the Kyoto Baroque Hall Award of Excellence, and subsequently released a CD. Bruce’s performing has taken him to concerts within Canada, but he has also played in England, the US, Germany, France Italy, Norway, Czechoslovakia, Bulgaria, and Japan. In addition to his performing, Bruce is head of the Piano Department at the University of Victoria working with young pianists, and through master classes and lectures, working to improve the level of teaching of piano.
