Bio
Devon Joiner [piano] made his debut with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at age 17 as a result his first place finish in the Burnaby Clef Concerto Competition. Since then he has completed his studies at UBC with Jane Coop and Robert Silverman, and added awards at the Knigge National Piano Competition, Canadian Music Competition, the Shean National Piano Competition and the Seattle International Piano Competition. Devon participated in the Morningside Music Bridge summer music programs in Shanghai and Calgary, and the National Arts Centre's 2009 Young Artists programme in Ottawa. He is a recipient of awards from the Koerner Foundation, Hnatyshyn Foundation and BC Arts Council and the K. Bacon Memorial Scholarship. Devon is currently pursuing advanced studies at the Juilliard School in New Yorkwhile also maintaining an active performing schedule as a solo performer and chamber musician with concerts in Canada, USA, Austria and China.
