In his career as a composer and performer Randy Raine-Reuch uses the many of the instruments of the world, and explores their possibilities for both traditional melodies and improvisation. He has studied with master musicians in Australia, Malaysia, Chine, Indonesia, Thailand, Burma and the Philippines as well as Korea and Japan. He was a consultant/founder of the Rainforest World Music Festival in Malaysia, a consultant for Cirque du Soleil, and has assisted a number of universities with building their collections of instruments of the world. He was founder of the World Music mentoring programme for the BC Festival of the Arts and is a consultant for government agencies in Canada and Asia in the area of world music.
