Kimberley-based trumpeter and flautist Laurel Ralston is currently Second Trumpet with the Symphony of the Kootenays, and is a member of the newly-formed quintet Quintessential Jazz. Laurel is also an active conductor, and serves as director of the Kimberley United Church Choir and Kimberley Community Band. Laurel holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Ottawa, a Master of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Alberta, and received additional performance training at the Domaine Forget Music and Dance Academy, and the University of Toronto, and with several master teacher/performers.
