Douglas Hensley, guitar

Douglas Hensley is equally at home with classical guitar, and its older relative, the lute. He has played with and directed small ensembles of instruments in performances of music from composers of early times to composers of today. His work with composers of today has resulted in over 50 compositions being added to the guitar’s repertory, and several new compositions for lute. Since moving to Victoria, he has performed on various instruments with many of the musical organizations in the city. He also plays and teaches several classical Persian instruments. A faculty member of the string department of the Victoria Conservatory of Music, he is a founding member of Continuum Consort.
