NADIA KYNE, flute
Canadian flutist Nadia Kyne began her studies in BC, and went on to advanced study at the Curtis Institute of Music and then at Juilliard. She was a recipient of the Grand Award of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s “Galaxie Rising Stars Award”, and has performed in Canada as soloist with the Vancouver and Edmonton Symphonies, at the Stratford Music Festival, and for the Vancouver Recital Society. Nadia is Assistant Principal Flute and Piccolo of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Her performing has taken her to Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully, and Avery Fisher Hall in New York city. She has an interest in new music and has had performed with the Axiom Ensemble, the New Juilliard Ensemble and the New York-based rock band Vampire Weekend in a performance for MTV Unplugged.
