Bio
Equally proficient in both the violin and piano, Stephanie Chan has enjoyed a remarkable journey as a multi-faceted musician. As a violinist, she appeared with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra at the age of 14, performing Tchaikovsky's violin concerto. As part of her piano trio, she was invited to attend the Orford Arts Centre on full scholarship. Her extensive studies and diverse interests later earned her an invitation to act as a teaching assistant for two summers at Young Artist Experience, a summer music program for gifted teens that encouraged and promoted the connection between musicianship and social responsibility. Under YAE's director Rena Sharon, Stephanie was able to explore the diverse applications and importance of music education and the involvement of musicians on a global, humanitarian scale, which enriched her studies and perspective as an undergraduate in Political Science at the University of British Columbia.
