Catherine MacKinnon began playing flute as an eleven-year-old in Vancouver, and completed her music degree at the University of British Columbia.  Since moving to the Nelson area in 1993, Catherine has performerd with a variety of ensembles large and small, including a violin/flute duo with her daughter Molly.  Catherine is currently principal flute with the Symphony of the Kootenays and the Selkirk Chamber Orchestra.
