Jocelyn Pritchard is an active pianist, choir conductor and teacher. During the ‘60’s, she and Patricia Elliott toured Canada from Toronto to Vancouver Island as a two-piano team. Jocelyn is known for her work in founding choral organizations, including the Da Camera Singers (in Edmonton), the Okanagan Symphony Choir, and the JUBILATE! Chamber Choir (in Vancouver). She was Minister of Music and Fine Arts at Shaughnessy Heights United Church for 12 years, and in 1997, founded the Centre for Church Music and the Arts. Her support for choral music is legendary, and includes a Canada Council grant (which enabled her to give 50 workshops for piano teachers and choral conductors in 1974), service on the Boards of the B.C.Choral Federation, the Vancouver Chamber Choir, the Board of Voting Members of the Canadian Music Centre, and as BC Co-ordinator for the United Church of Canada Association of Musicians. At present she conducts the Ad Hoc Singers, and is Past President of The Townships Project, a micro-finance activity in South Africa.
