Bio
Jodi Proznick [bass] is a BC native, received her music degree from McGill University in Montreal where her teachers included some of the top bass players in Canada. Since moving to Vancouver in 2000, she has played with international jazz musicians such as Ed Thigpen, Ryan Kaisor, and Eddie Daniels, and Canadian greats such as Ian McDougall, Oliver Gannon, and Brad Turner. A highlight for Jodi was opening for Oscar Peterson with the Oliver Gannon Quartet at the Orpheum in the summer of 2004. Also in 2004, Jodi won the Galaxie Rising Star Award of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival with her own group, the Jodi Proznick Quartet. She has been featured on over a dozen recordings including the release in October 2006 of Foundations, a CD featuring many of her own compositions.
