Originally from Texas, violist Kay Cochran joined the Victoria Symphony in 1994. She complete her Master of Music at McGill University in Montreal, and pursued further studies at the Banff Centre. A founding member of the Galiano Ensemble, the Odyssey String Quartet, and the viola-guitar duo, Ten-String Music, she has taught viola and chamber music at the University of Victoria. Previous to her time in Victoria, Kay performed with the chamber music ensemble Museus, and with other chamber music ensembles in France, the former Soviet Union, the U.S., Canada, and Korea. and pursued her musical studies in Montreal, Houston, Paris, and the Banff Centre.
