Harpist Sophie Baird-Daniel can be heard performing as a soloist, chamber musician, and an orchestral member in and around Seattle, in addition to Canada and the rest of the United States.  In 2011 Sophie was a member of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, and joined them on their tour of Mexico.  Her other orchestral engagements have included the Grammy-nominated Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería, the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, and the Houston Symphony.  As a chamber musician, Sophie plays regularly as part of a violin duo with Rebecca MacLeod, and in larger ensembles.  In 2010, Sophie was awarded 1st runner-up at the American Harp Society’s Anne Adams Awards.  In the summer of 2014, Sophie attended the Aspen Music Festival, where she was coached by Nancy Allen.  She recently completed an Artist Diploma at the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Judy Loman.
