Brenda Campbell
Bio
Brenda Campbell has been a very active pianist in Vancouver since 1992. She teaches piano at the Vancouver Academy of Music, and is in constant demand as an accompanist for instrumentalists and singers. She has been the accompanist for many masterclasses given by international musicians, including Steven Isserlis, Raphael Wallfisch, and Desmond Hoebig. Brenda is often heard in recital with her husband, cellist Brian Mix. Along with Brian, she had the honour of a piece dedicated to her by the late Jean Coulthard. Brenda has also adjudicated piano at music festivals, taught music theory, and has written articles about composers and music for younger listeners for the Vancouver Recital Society. Brenda completed her Bachelor of Music degree at UBC along with two Artist Residences at the Banff Centre for the Arts. She has also received instruction from Gilbert Kalish, Laurence Lesser, Eric Wilson, Tom Rolston, and Dennis Simons, among others.
