Benjamin Hopkins, piano

Since winning first prize in the Thousand Islands International Piano Competition, Benjamin Hopkins has won acclaim for performances across North America and Europe. In 2008, he debuted with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra after decisively winning all categories of the RPO League’s Young Artist Auditions. 2013 brought his New York City debut and performances with orchestras in Spain and California. Most recently, he won grand prize in the inaugural Silverman Concerto Competition, first prize in the UBC Concerto Competition and the Rio Hondo Symphony Young Artist Competition, and third prize in the National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Auditions. He will make his European recital debut this summer as a fellow at the Gijon International Piano Festival and appear as a soloist with the UBC Symphony for the third consecutive season this fall.
