Roan Shankaruk, vocal & ukulele

Roan Shankaruk is a 2018 UBC School of Music Opera Performance graduate and is working on her double major in composition.  Recently Roan was selected as a composer for the Vancouver Opera Festival, where she composed two opera excerpts.  Roan premiered her newly composed opera “The Woman Who Borrowed Memories” this past June at UBC.  On her weekends she performs at Granville Island as a busker specializing in vintage songs from the 1910s-1940s accompanying herself on ukulele.  Roan is proud to be a member of the Concerts in Care Emerging Performers Programme now for her fourth year.
