Bernie Arai, drums

Bernie Arai is a performer, educator and recording artist who spans styles through jazz, improvised music, traditional Japanese, and electronic music.  On drum set, percussion and electronics, he performs all over Canada and has toured across the United States, Japan and Europe. Bernie leads ensembles including his quartet Goat Logic and an electronic trio called Densabi.  Bernie also works with Brad Turner, Bill Coon, Bill Runge, the Hard Rubber Orchestra, Jennifer Scott, Fred Stride, Sharon Minemoto, Paul Keeling,Tommy Babin, Mimosa, and many others.  A dedicated and experienced educator, Bernie is an instructor at Vancouver Community College’s School of Music.
