Barry Tan, piano

Canadian pianist Barry Tan is currently based in Los Angeles and is enjoying a career as an active performer, and educator. He has enjoyed working with other musicians in Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Victoria, and Los Angeles; he has also served as a Musical Director for local chamber music programs and college-level singers. Barry has attended various music festivals in Canada, U.S.A, and Europe, and is grateful to be funded by various grants and scholarships throughout North America.

Previously, Barry studied at McGill University, Schulich School of Music, under full scholarship, and also at the University of Victoria, where he graduated with distinction. He is currently pursuing Doctoral Studies at the University of Southern California and teaching as an instructor.

In his spare time, Barry enjoys exploring new parts of Los Angeles, watching horror movies, and trying different coffee beans for many local shops. He is excited to join as an artist with BC Health Arts Society!
