David Brown (bass] has performed with many of the musical organizations in Vancouver–– Music in the Morning, Masterpiece Music, Curio, Festival Vancouver, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Vetta Chamber Music, and Turning Point Ensemble. He has toured with The Three Tenors and the Winnipeg Ballet, and has extensive film and commercial recording experience. David studied at the Juilliard School with the support of the Canada Council, has been a member of the Vancouver Symphony since 1978, Principal Bass of the CBC Radio Orchestra since 2004, and pursues his particular interest in the possibilities of small ensembles by performing chamber music and music of an improvisational nature. He very much enjoys teaching, has been on the faculty of the colleges and universities in the Vancouver area, and currently has his own studio for private students.
