STEWART “STU” LOSEBY, saxophone

Born in Glagow, Scotland into a musical family, Stewart began piano lessons at the age of 5, was a serious student on saxophone at age 16, and by 18 playing professionally in Glasgow as part of a big band and with a saxophone combo. His career took him to many parts of Canada––Toronto, Montreal, Labrador––as he played with fellow jazz musicians, and with his own small groups.

He is an active recording artist beginning as a studio musician, and progressing to releasing CDs with his fellow Vancouver jazz musicians.

Currently Stu performs with his own group and other dedicated players in the Vancouver including Miles Black, Linton Garner, Harvey Korsrud, John Korsrud, Kenny Colman, and Pearl Brown.
